Making Gold – World of Warcraft Gold Farming Tips

By Josh Wygant | January 31, 2010

It can be a real challenge to get gold in WoW. Many players experience the difficulty that is associated with earning it much less keeping it. And buying gold from a website will only end with your account being scammed and eventually banned for buying the gold. But thank goodness their are legal

and easy ways to get gold when farming in WoW. You gotta know where to look though! The auction house is something you should learn to use as well, I will cover that.

These are just a few hints to get you started:

-Train in Herbalism if you have a skill slot free, it’s great for making gold. Loch Modan is a great low level area to try out for some gold farming. Once you get higher you can go to Hitherlands and Swamp of Sorrows to farm some gold. The ghost cap mushrooms in the Hitherlands can get a lot of gold for you through the auction house.

-After level 54 or so Winterspring is the place to be. Many ghosts that are around 55 pop up that are easy to kill and respawn very fast. Keep and eye out for black lotuses while farming the ghosts if you are a herbalist, they fetch even more gold than ghost mushrooms.

-If you’re a miner, Tin in the lower level areas like Ashenvale is a great way to make some cash. Once you get higher level Tanaris and Un’Goro have plenty of Mithril.

-Checking out Limited Supply Items can get you alot of gold as well. There are many vendors around the world which have items that can only be bought so many times, and they resell well at the auction house. They sell many needed things such as plans, patterns, and even recipes which professions need.

-Try farming humanoid mobs, even undeads and ogres work great for this as well. The cloth they drop can be sold for a fair price on the auction house and you can vendor the great weapons they drop. Green items are fairly common from them as well, which is great if you like enchanting.

-You can get some good farming in at Dustwallow Marsh as well. Skinning is great at this area if you are trained in it. Kill all those turtles at the beach, they range around level 37. The alligators are plentiful in that area as well, but you should avoid them till you are 38.

-You can get tons of gold and loot in instances as well, but this method is a bit more difficult solo. Farming the library wing in the Scarlet Monastery will give you a lot of gold too. If you are capable of doing the place solo, go for it!
